Perm Rod Set on Dry Hair

I have drooling over beautiful perm rod sets for awhile now. I've attempted them a couple times, and either given up or completely failed :) After losing my steam rollerset, I decided to go for it again. I figured I'd attempt it on dry hair to help me get the technique down and hopefully get better results this time. I was also hoping that actually setting my hair with mousse would help my curls combat the heat.

It was a very simple process. I used the smaller pink rods, Shea Moisture Frizz-Free Curl Mousse, and Creme of Nature Repairing Oil. I only applied the mousse to the length of my hair, not my roots. I twisted my hair around the rod working downward instead of starting at the end of my hair and rolling upward. I let it air dry overnight. That's pretty much it!

When I took it down the next day, I unraveled the rods from my hair in the same direction. I was so excited at how well the curls turned out! I didn't even separate them that day because I wanted to see how they behaved in the humidity. Of course, my hair swelled some because that's what it does best, but my curls were still yet holding on :)

So I guess this is the trick: if I want my curls to stay in the summer heat, I have to actually set my hair. Even as the rest of the humid, rainy week progressed, my hair stayed curled pretty tightly. It just got bigger lol typical. I think I'm going to practice a few more times with these on dry hair before attempting to do it wet again. But this is hands down the best way to "cheat" a perm rod set! Loved it!

The occurrences in my marriage wasn’t clear, I invested emotionally and I don’t see the positive impacts. I prayed for a husband that could remind me of the good he sees in me, a husband that can make me laugh and also boost my mood. The introduction of spell to my hunt saved my marriage. Dr. gbojie looked at the happenings from a different angle before solving the puzzle. He totally handled the event like the master he is. It was emotional for me seeing us reach beyond the invisible boundaries in our marriage. My husband is in support of this story, so I’m not compromising my integrity because the spell toss on us was a goodwill spell.“Share your story to liberate a relationship” was the word said to me by Dr. Wakina after he successfully completed a unity spell that brought us back after 9 months and 4 days. 2. They look so beautiful, I've always wanted to try this twisting method but I thought it doesn't look nice on relaxed hair coz I only see natural hair ladies doing it

    1. Thank you, Becca! I never thought about the fact that you don't see many relaxed ladies trying this method, you're right. I always love the results of it though, so I had to go for it. I hope it works out well for you, too!

  3. Lovely! I also did a perm rod set this weekend for the first time on wet hair. I turned out pretty nice. It also swelled with the humidity, but the curls are still holding. I used setting lotion (proclaim maybe) and Miss Jessie's Jelly Soft Curls. I got the idea of setting lotion and jelly from a youtube video I saw. I'm loving the big day 2 hair! LOL! Can't wait to see your wet set results!! :)
